To the Clergy, Kai Karakia and faithful laity of Te Manawa o Te Wheke. It is my duty and joy, as the Bishop, to issue this summons to you all for the Hui Amorangi / Annual General Meeting (Synod) of Te Manawa o Te Wheke. We gather together, in synod, as 3 houses (Bishop, Clergy, and Laity) to conduct the business of our Church, of God’s Church. 

It is expected that all Licensed Clergy and Kai Karakia attend this gathering. Representation of all our Kāhui is important also; tāne, wāhine and rangatahi. We require all attendees to register their attendance to ensure we adhere to safe gathering practices. Koha from each rohe are appreciated and can be arranged earlier with the Office or given directly on the day of arrival (with a receipt provided). 

The details for Hui Amorangi 2023 are as follows: 

Millennium Hotel, Rotorua, 1270 Hinemaru Street, Ōhinemutu – Mokoia Room 

Tuesday 19th December – arrival at 1pm onwards & finishing on 

Wednesday 20th December at 5pm 

There is a pānui regarding registrations on this summons, please familiarise yourself with these notices before registering.

Accommodation

Delegates are welcome to make their own accommodation arrangements for Tuesday night and cover the costs of this personally.

Unfortunately, due to the amount of registration no-shows in previous years, we will require a contribution from all delegates who will need accommodation on Tuesday night of Hui Amorangi. The charge for accommodation to delegates is a minimal $50. Details will be provided for payment during registration. Any changes to accommodation after the deadline and any room charges incurred will need to be covered by you personally, if you decide not to attend after registering, the costs incurred will be passed onto you (or your pāriha)
